I went outdoors during a 2nd plateau experience. I want to be honest that it was beautiful AND that it was a mistake in terms of safety. Documenting both.
Setup
215mg at 69kg (~3.1mg/kg). I have a property with a large private garden and I planned to walk it during the experience. Sitter was present inside the house and checking in every 30 minutes.
Outdoors During Peak
The sensory experience outdoors was extraordinary. Trees in late afternoon light looked like they had depth stacked behind depth β each layer of foliage had its own distinct reality. The sounds of wind and insects became musical, rhythmic, deeply textured.
I sat on the grass for probably two hours and watched clouds with a kind of attention I don’t normally have.
The Safety Issues I Didn’t Fully Appreciate
My depth perception was significantly altered. Uneven ground was genuinely treacherous. I stumbled several times on terrain I know very well. If I had been somewhere unfamiliar, or near a road, or near water, this could have been seriously dangerous.
My judgment about what was safe was also impaired β there were moments where I wanted to walk further from the house and it was only the sitter checking in that kept me near familiar ground.
Verdict
If you want outdoors: private property only, perfectly flat terrain, someone nearby the whole time. No roads, no water, no heights, no strangers. The beauty is real. The physical risk is also real. Coordinate accordingly.
